I love this metaphor of the garden. It feels like such a beautiful reflection of the creative process: what we first perceive as chaos or overgrowth may actually be a living collection of ideas, experiences and possibilities waiting for attention.
I think many creatives accumulate more than we organise because curiosity naturally gathers. The challenge is not always clearing everything away, but learning which parts deserve care and time to grow. Sometimes the garden was there all along … we just needed to recognise it.
I want to climb inside your wardrobe, picturing it leading to an overgrown garden where the weeds have faces and recite poetry ...
but I pulled them today. and the faces are withering, poor, poor weeds.
The weeds have faces and are poets! GAH! This is just what I need for something I am working on. Søren said once, when he was so little:
"I know a place where weeds turn to rainbows when pressed into a book"
