I really want one of these presses to try it. I have gone back and forth about whether to order one already made or try to find some place local to print one. Or to maybe buy a 3-d printer....
I have two sizes and tried to print the middle. I also have a pasta press.
We didn’t finish printing middle one but I tried to fit parts and it will take some work for sure.
The big press , though I haven’t tried a lot to be fair, seems to favor the center, making it a big small press.
The XS is so cute and photogenic, but doesn’t always have enough umpfh. It will be amazing for travel and even day trips. I am really happy to have it overall as I have been using it daily for my project - but some plates just work better in the noodler.
I am so intrigued by this printing press. I have been thinking a lot lately about my lithography class in college, and wanting to find a way to print at home. Then I found your substack about this press! Where do get your printing supplies? Are you printing on watercolor paper?
The press I got from Open Press Project ( i believe I linked in the post) It came with the felt. We laser the water colour paper for small tins (completely fitting) at Peg and Awl. The ink I've used is speedball (whatever was at Michael's - but I am going to order Schminke next) and I use antique tools for engraving, and finally Tetra Paks! My fried has a restaurant and collected a bunch for me. I hope this helps. I will do more thorough explanations with links over the next few weeks.
I will definitely look forward to your demos and will also be researching in the meantime. I need to learn more about the Tetra Paks. I do have one of your small tins with paper. Thank you for sharing your experience. You inspire me and so many others.
Yay for mini printing presses! I bought a pasta machine for this very purpose but have yet to try it out, this is making me want to go and see what I can create!
I'm taking a watercolor for relaxation course. I will integrate ideas for design on tiny alternative sketchbook paper. I may also do flowers each day. I shall start tomorrow.

The pasta press was $36 and works really well!
I hope this helps.
Thanks for all the info!
