My husband and I moved to our little farm nearly 10 years ago. Since then we have done a lot of gardening, hacking back the wild roses trimming back. I’ll be overground trees and it’s been fun to discover a few treasures like a clematis vine and a old Peony bush that had been forgotten.
Where do you live? I found some Peonys here too and moved them:) We have Autumn Clematis which is brutal in Pennsylvania. Treasure finding is the best:) I just found some American Holly in the woodland that I moved. All so fun!
I live in Southeastern Idaho, almost 3 hours from Yellowstone National Park! Just yesterday I saw a few tulips poking up and the lilacs are full of buds. Spring is coming!
I am also an ungardener. Experimenting— half the time wrong but then by chance surprising myself. The growth of flowers— of plants— fascinates me. Their shoots and roots and unfurling.
Thank you for joining me Mary - a fellow ungardener! I do always appreciate the surprise of a successfully growing being. I, too, am fascinated by their every phase, as if they are all my children! 🤣
So many beautiful plant, animal, bird names in this, I can almost imagine being there! Amazing! Seems such a brave thing to do, and sounds truly breathtaking! X
I wonder if the snowdrops chorus of "here comes our savior" overpowers the "who do you think she's coming for next" chatter amongst the other sentient beings as you ascend the hills machete in hand.
I Love LoVe LOVE when you share tales from your adventures around the Five Acre Wood!!

A never ending landscape of beauty and decay.

I suspect the latter! And no machete here- just me and a shovel -
So happy you enjoy the adventures! I love the adventuring! Except the ticks. They are abundant this year. 🥹
